It all started back in 1980 when, on leaving school, David became a trainee jewellery sales assistant in Whitechapel, Liverpool. There, with the knowledge and advice gained from his manager, David’s passion for jewellery grew and 40 years later, that passion remains.
This trainee start led to an apprenticeship as a goldsmith and there followed experience in fine jewellery stores including Mappin & Webb and Herbert Wolf.
David’s ambition was always to be independent and, with the aid of a Prince’s Trust grant, David built a workbench and started work on trade jewellery repairs in his spare bedroom and garage. As business grew, he rented a room above a jewellery shop and worked there until 1996. In December the same year, David Moss Jeweller opened in the historic market town of Ormskirk and has remained there ever since.
